Corsage

Portico di Ottavia, the heart of the Ghetto. I love how old and new come together here, as in so many other corners of Rome.

  1. Umm, I’m puzzled. The only “new” thing I see is the rather flimsy barricade in front of the wooden door. The reinforcements on the one column look as if they’ve been there quite a while.

And I’m afraid I have no idea what you mean by “corsage”.

    • Zerlina, that is the positive proof that new and old is so mingled one can’t even tell them apart at first. Not only the barrier but the door itself is around 2K years younger than the columns, and the brick walls are something in between…
And I know you are perfectly capable of a google search for corsage, in case you don’t already know what it is (hard to believe!). And if you don’t see the link to the picture, oh well, everyone has a different eye! That is why I am taking pictures!
